Prayer to St. Joseph (Leo XIII)

To you, O blessed Joseph, we turn in our distress. Having implored the help of your most holy Spouse, we confidently ask for your protection also. Through that charity which bound you to the Immaculate Virgin Mother of God, and through the paternal love with which you embraced the Child Jesus, we humbly beseech you: look graciously upon the precious inheritance which Jesus Christ purchased with His Blood, and come to our aid in our need with your power and strength. O most watchful guardian of the Holy Family, watch over all who are chosen to be children of God; keep far from us, O most loving father, every error and every vice. O mighty protector, assist us graciously from heaven in our struggle with the powers of darkness. And as you once rescued the Child Jesus from the greatest peril of His life, so now defend God’s holy Church against her enemies and adversaries. Take us all under your constant protection, so that, following your example and with your help, we may live holy lives, die a happy death, and attain eternal bliss in heaven. Amen.
