The Our Father Novena

Our Father, who art in heaven!

I call upon You, Heavenly Father, have mercy on me and on all people on earth who are of good will. Let us all come to recognize more and more that we are called to love You in this world and to serve You, so that one day we may share in Your eternal glory.

Hallowed be Thy name!

Like Your Son Jesus, I long for Your name to be praised and honored everywhere.

Thy kingdom come!

May Your kingdom seize all humanity more and more: may it grow, blossom and bear abundant fruit in the hearts of Your sons and daughters on earth.

Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven!

Let people understand ever more deeply that true peace and happiness are found only in the perfect fulfillment of Your will, in keeping Your commandments.

Give us this day our daily bread!

Father of mercy, give Your children throughout the world the food they need for soul and body. Let us recognize more and more how salutary the daily, worthy reception of Holy Communion is.

And forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us!

Kind Father, in atonement for my sins and the sins of all people, for our indifference and our faults, I offer You the Blood, the wounds, the sufferings and the merits of Your Son Jesus. Accept His great love in place of our deficient love of God, neighbor and enemy.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil!

Merciful Father, keep far from us the evil spirit, the world and its cunning, and the “near occasion of sin,” so that I and all who are dear to You may live and serve You in Your grace and in Your peace. Send Your holy angels to protect us, at the intercession of their Queen, and bless us. Amen.
